To close out the regular season, Texas football was triumphant on Black Friday coming out of a gritty battle against head coach Dave Aranda and the Baylor Bears. The final score didn’t indicate just how close this game was most of the way, with Texas taking the win by a score of 38-27.

Star junior running back Bijan Robinson and senior Roschon Johnson put the team on their back in the fourth quarter. And the Texas defense really bowed up in the second half, holding the Baylor offense to just 56 yards. Texas’ defense only allowed four total yards from the Baylor offense in the fourth quarter, coming on just 10 plays.

The win over Baylor moves Texas to a mark of 8-4- (6-3 Big 12) to finish out the regular season. Texas finished up the regular season with two-straight wins over bowl-eligible Big 12 teams in Baylor and the Kansas Jayhawks.
