Cedric Baxter Jr., RB

I wanted to include the newly-minted five-star Edgewater (FL) running back and Texas commit Cedric Baxter Jr. among the recruits impressed by the Longhorns’ win for a second straight week for one major reason. Texas winning the way it is of late is definitely something that will help Sark and running backs coach Tashard Choice keep Baxter locked in with this 2023 class ahead of signing day next month.

Judging by Baxter’s reactions on social media combined with what we’ve heard from him in the last couple of weeks, he’s about as locked in with Texas as ever. He was engaged on social media in this game, largely thanks to the efforts of Bijan on the ground.

Bijan was amazing in the last couple of weeks, which is the driving factor as to why I think Texas was able to seal the deal with Baxter to close out the regular season.

Rylan Kennedy, EDGE

The newest target for the Longhorns on the recruiting trail that made this list coming out of the win over Baylor is the fast-rising 6-foot-4 and 215-pound 2023 Mansfield Lake Ridge (TX) edge rusher Rylan Kennedy.

From what we’ve heard, Texas did not get Kennedy to campus for the win over Baylor. But the staff did extend an offer to Kennedy on the same day as the win over Baylor, on Nov. 25.

And it sounds like this offer, along with the win over Baylor, made a real impression on Kennedy.

The next step for Texas here will be to get Kennedy to campus for a visit at some point in the next couple of months. He’s set to take an official visit to see the Cal Golden Bears next month. And the USC Trojans, Auburn Tigers, and San Diego State Aztecs are a few other schools that offered him recently that caught his eye.
