Dylan Disu gets a block hat trick for the first time this season

The best things come in threes in this game if the final two bold predictions on this list wind up coming to fruition for the Longhorns against UTRGV this weekend.

This looks like it could be a really big game for Disu and the Texas frontcourt if they’re able to dial up some pressure on UTRGV’s bigs. If this game is anything like the way that the matchup between the Kansas State Wildcats and UTRGV went earlier this season, then it should be a field day in the paint for the likes of Disu and senior big man Christian Bishop.

UTRGV does have some size down low between the 6-foot-8 forward Daylen Williams and the aforementioned 6-foot-10 Zdor. But that size didn’t help UTRGV much against major conference competition dating back to last season.

And with the lack of offensive versatility in the UTRGV frontcourt, this is a very winnable matchup for the Texas bigs.

I think Disu, in particular, could be in for a big game on the defensive end of the floor. If Disu can effectively man up on defense on either Zdor or Williams, he could notch a couple of blocks at least.

In two of the four games that the Longhorns played this season, Disu registered two blocks in each. He had one across the other two games this season combined.

This could be where he puts it all together and comes up with a season-high three blocks against a pretty static offensive frontcourt for the Vaqueros.
