Predicting Texas football’s next transfer after wave of entrants this week
This NCAA Transfer Portal cycle for Texas football and head coach Steve Sarkisian kicked off with a bang on Nov. 29 with more than a half-dozen players announcing their intentions to try the transfer market heading into next offseason.
After not losing a single player to the transfer portal since the start of the regular season, the Longhorns saw a pretty big wave of entrants to start the week. We are likely to see at least a couple more players announcing their intentions to enter the portal in the coming days too.
And considering the only player the Longhorns lost to the portal since the start of fall camp was sophomore offensive tackle Jaylen Garth, I figured this type of wave of transfers was expected in the not-too-distant future.
Here is the list of players that the Longhorns lost to the portal just on Nov. 29.
- Troy Omeire, WR
- Prince Dorbah, EDGE
- JD Coffey III, S
- DJ Harris, EDGE/OLB
- Andrej Karic, OT
- Hudson Card, QB
- Jamier Johnson, CB

Predicting Texas football’s next portal entry before the Dec. 5 window opens
Here’s a look at a prediction of the next portal entrant(s) for the Longhorns after a day on Nov. 29 that saw more than a half dozen players announce transfer intentions.
Logan Parr, G
We already saw one offensive lineman for the Longhorns put his name in the transfer portal this week when sophomore OT/flex TE Karic announced on social media on Nov. 29. And it’s probably only a matter of time before more Texas offensive linemen that are getting buried on the depth chart also test the transfer market heading into next offseason.
A possible candidate to enter the portal in the near future among the Texas offensive linemen that weren’t on the two-deep early in fall camp is redshirt sophomore IOL Logan Parr.
Parr is in a tough situation where he was looking to make some headway on the IOL depth chart last offseason. But then offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns absolutely caught fire on the recruiting trail in terms of bringing in offensive linemen in the 2022 and 2023 classes.
Landing what is now roughly a dozen offensive line commits in the last two recruiting classes is something that has forced Parr down on the depth chart in the last year or so. And it won’t get any easier from here on out for the third-year former three-star recruit.
During the regular season, Parr took three-dozen offensive snaps over the course of four games. The offensive snaps he took this season were spread out between the two guard positions and center.
If Parr does decide to test the waters in the portal heading into next offseason, he would do so likely with three years of eligibility remaining.
