On the afternoon of Dec. 3, the No. 3 ranked and undefeated TCU Horned Frogs duked it out with the No. 10 ranked Kansas State Wildcats in the Big 12 football Championship Game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. TCU was looking for its first Big 12 Championship since the 2014 season.

Meanwhile, Kansas State was seeking out its first Big 12 title since the 2012 season. And both teams were clearly ready for a real battle in this title game.

Granted, TCU didn’t get the best start to the first half. TCU’s offense was looking pretty sluggish out of the games, putting up just 10 points heading into the locker room at halftime.

At one point in this game, it looked like quarterback Will Howard and Kansas State would be able to pull away from the Horned Frogs. But senior quarterback and Heisman contender Max Duggan wouldn’t let the Horned Frogs go away in this game without a fight.

Duggan led a game-tying drive where he essentially willed the Horned Frogs down the field after multiple key run plays. Duggan was really beaten up in this game but proved to show a valiant effort to keep TCU hanging around late in the second half.

If there was any doubt that Duggan at least deserved a spot in the top five in the Heisman voting coming out of the weekend, his efforts in the second half against Kansas State put those concerns to bed.

Duggan’s fight in the second half helped the Horned Frogs bring the game even, forcing the contest to go into overtime.

It’s worth noting that essentially all the notable reactions on social media coming out of this Big 12 Championship Game have to do with the toughness that Duggan put on display down the stretch.

Despite Duggan’s valiant efforts late in this one, a dramatic goalline stand from the Wildcats wound up holding the Horned Frogs at bey in overtime.

Kansas State knocked through a field goal to ultimately get this wild win in the Big 12 title game in overtime by the final score of 31-28.

Here’s a look at some of the social media reactions to Kansas State’s wild overtime win in the Big 12 Championship over Duggan and the Horned Frogs.

Deuce Vaughn was absolutely awesome for the Wildcats again this weekend.

TCU likely secured its spot in the College Football Playoff with the way it responded in the second half. That was largely thanks to Duggan putting the team on his back late in the fourth quarter.

Kansas State now takes a record of 11-3 into the postseason, with a Sugar Bowl appearance all but certain for head coach Chris Klieman’s squad. Meanwhile, TCU comes out with a record of 12-1 with a likely Playoff berth on the horizon.
