Miami

Another landing spot in the state of Florida that would make a lot of sense for Harris is with first-year head coach Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes in the ACC.

There’s a reason why there are so many programs with first-year head coaches on this list among potential destinations out of the portal for Harris. The former A&M DB will be looking for a fresh start while many of these coaches are looking to shift the culture within their programs.

In the case of the former Oregon Ducks head coach Cristobal, he’s got a long way to go before he’s got the culture that he wants in place in Coral Gables, which could then produce better results on the field.

If Harris checks out as a fit with the direction that Cristobal wants to take this Miami football program, then he could be a long-term contributor that makes a big difference for a defense that really struggled to stop anyone down the stretch during the regular season.

Cristobal and the Canes are looking to accomplish the simple task of adding high-end talent that will be bought into the program. And considering some of the losses that Miami already underwent to the portal heading into the upcoming offseason, this staff can’t be as picky as they might like to be in 2023.

The Miami 247Sports site Inside The U pegged Harris as a potential portal target for the Canes heading into the 2023 offseason.

For the simple fact that both Miami and Harris will be looking for fresh starts in 2023, I think this could be a good match. Miami is probably going to do whatever it takes to add more elite talent on the defensive side of the ball after what happened in ACC play this year. Harris could be one of the most talented impact players that Miami could find out of the portal to bolster the defensive backfield in 2023.
