TCU

At the moment, it looks like the leader in the race to land a commitment from Marshall out of the portal is the TCU Horned Frogs.

First-year head coach Sonny Dykes and his staff have found a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail among high school prospects in the last few months. And it’s now looking like that momentum is starting to translate to the transfer portal with some of the wins the Horned Frogs could have in store in the near future.

TCU hasn’t really lost any key players to the portal yet, which is not too surprising given its berth in the College Football Playoff this postseason. Depending on what happens on the recruiting trail and in the Playoff in the next few weeks, TCU might be able to do a nice job retaining key players on the roster in 2023.

But Dykes and his staff look to be getting the pieces in place to succeed in 2023 regardless of what happens with some of the possible key departures.

Marshall looks to be one of the players that finds playing in Fort Worth appealing heading into the 2023 offseason. A report from Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports on Dec. 13 pegged TCU as the favorite in the race to land a commitment from Marshall out of the portal.

Wiltfong even put in a transfer 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction for Marshall to TCU this week.

If TCU winds up losing standout junior wide receiver Quentin Johnston to the NFL Draft in 2023, then Marshall could be a guy that the Horned Frogs rely on in that spot next season.

TCU also looks to be the favorite in the race to land a commitment from the former Alabama wide receiver Jojo Earle out of the portal with the 2023 class. The Horned Frogs are trying to get a nice duo of wideouts out of the portal early on in this cycle with Marshall and Earle.
