LSU

Clearly, the most obvious landing spot for Anderson out of the portal will be with first-year head coach Brian Kelly and LSU. Prior to the departure of Joseph and former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron last fall, Anderson was committed to the Tigers for a good while.

Coaching staff turnover in Baton Rouge did eventually cause Anderson to flip his commitment from LSU to Alabama.

Nonetheless, it already looks like LSU has eyes on Anderson since he entered the portal on Dec. 12. A report from Sonny Shipp of 247Sports on Dec. 15 (paid content) indicates that LSU could be looking at Anderson already as a portal target entering the upcoming offseason.

LSU has a good thing going right now after winning the SEC in Kelly’s first year at the helm as the head coach in Baton Rouge. And with some key pieces returning to the Tigers in 2023, including star wide receiver Kayshon Boutte and potentially Heisman-contending quarterback Jayden Daniels, it looks like this team is in a good spot to make a run in the SEC again next fall.

If Anderson does choose to take his talents to Baton Rouge to join the Tigers for good this time, he would be able to come in and compete right away for starting reps at wideout. He would bring a polarizing aspect to this offense that this group doesn’t really have in the fold right now.

Watch out for LSU to emerge as a top landing spot for Anderson out of the portal with the 2023 class.
