When it’s all said and done, there’s a good chance that the lone blue-chip tight end in the Longhorns 2023 class is the highly touted four-star Vanderbilt Commodores commit and Fort Worth North Crowley product Ka’Morreun Pimpton.

Texas has recruited Pimpton hard in the last month or so. And it sounds like special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks and the Longhorns made a real positive impression on Pimpton and his camp during his official visit to Austin last weekend.

We’ve talked about the possibility of Texas flipping the commitment of Pimpton from Vanderbilt essentially boiling down to a coin flip’s chance at this point. And that still seems to be the case heading into the morning of signing day.

At the moment, I believe that Vanderbilt and Texas are the schools that Pimpton is narrowing his decision down to. The LSU Tigers are technically still in the running to sign him on Dec. 21. But LSU has backed off a bit in the last couple of weeks since Pimpton took an official visit to Baton Rouge.
