The Texas football wide receiver room got a little bit thinner heading into the postseason. It appears that redshirt freshman wide receiver Agiye Hall is no longer with the team, according to multiple reports (including one from Inside Texas).

A report from Horns247 also confirmed that Hall is no longer with the team. He’s reportedly “expected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal” heading into the 2023 offseason.

Hall will be entering the transfer portal after nearly playing one full season with the Longhorns. This will also be his second stint in the transfer portal in as many offseasons. He joined the Longhorns by way of the transfer portal last offseason after spending one year with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

This is interesting since there was a point in time just a few weeks ago when it looked like Hall was bound to get more reps for the Longhorns in the Alamo Bowl. But that buzz has clearly died down as Hall is now transfer portal bound.

Hall had a tumultuous run with the Longhorns since late in the summer. He was suspended from the team indefinitely back in August after a parking incident. And then, Hall was able to nearly work his way back into the wide receiver rotation by the start of Big 12 play.

Hall got his first and only reception of the season, which went for seven yards, in Texas’ loss on the road to the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Sep. 24.

In total, Hall took 17 offensive snaps over the course of four games with the Longhorns during the regular season. He was targeted twice during the regular season, once in the loss to Texas Tech and once in the win over the West Virginia Mountaineers at home on Oct. 1.

Moreover, the now-former Texas and Alabama wideout will enter the portal as part of the 2023 class with three years of eligibility remaining.
