Texas Football: 3 best transfer landing spots for WR Agiye Hall
USF
Another in-state Group of Five program that could make sense for Hall out of the portal is the South Florida Bulls. Given that USF is one of the closest schools to home possible for Hall, this could be appealing for the former Texas and Alabama wideout as his next stop in 2023.
USF’s campus is roughly 20 miles away from Bloomingdale High School. Hall is from the Tampa area in Florida.
Moreover, new head coach Alex Golesh and the Bulls are looking to go through essentially a full rebuild. USF is a program that has a lot of potential when the right coaching staff is in place. Given that potential, I could see how the new coaching staff that is replacing the Jeff Scott regime in Tampa could want to bring in talent that needs to right the ship on and off the field such as Hall.
And similar to what I talked about with FAU being a possible Group of Five transfer destination for Hall in his home state, USF’s new head coach has some connections that could be brought up again. Golesh was on staff with the UCF Knights as the offensive coordinator in 2020 when Hall was offered by that school.
Golesh was then the offensive coordinator/tight ends coach with the Tennessee Volunteers under head coach Josh Heupel. Heupel and Golesh also offered and prioritized Hall’s recruitment out of high school when the latter of those two was still on staff in Knoxville.
If Golesh can get the right pieces in place out of the portal this offseason, then USF could be one of the rebound programs to watch around the Group of Five next fall. And that is a pitch that could definitely appeal to Hall in the coming weeks and months.
