The most recent addition to the 2023 Texas football recruiting class came on the second day of the Early Signing Period in the form of the former four-star Louisville Cardinals wide receiver commit/St. John Bosco (CA) product DeAndre Moore Jr. Texas flipped Moore’s commitment from Louisville on the second day of the Early Signing Period (Dec. 22) and got him to sign on the dotted line on that same day.

After Moore signed his National Letter of Intent on the second signing day, that left the question of whether he would be enrolling early to participate in spring ball. I was anticipating that this was a question that could be answered by Moore as he is a participant at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio this week.

And it now sounds like we have our answer to this question regarding the latest addition to the Longhorns 2023 signing class. According to a report from the All-American Bowl from Mike Roach of Horns247 on Jan. 2 (paid content), Moore is not present in San Antonio.

4-Star Texas football WR commit DeAndre Moore Jr. reportedly expected to enroll early

Moore is reportedly set to enroll early at Texas. And Roach notes opting out of the All-American Bowl this week potentially coming about because he is planning to enroll early at Texas.

Assuming this report holds true and Moore does enroll early at Texas in the next week or so, he would be the second wide receiver for the Longhorns to do so in the 2023 class. Texas is also anticipating the elite five-star DeSoto wide receiver Johntay Cook to enroll early.

The other wide receiver that committed to the Longhorns 2023 class, four-star Houston Aldine Eisenhower product Ryan Niblett, did sign early. But it doesn’t look like Niblett is planning to enroll at Texas until the summer.

Moore is one of the three aforementioned blue-chip wideouts that signed early with the Longhorns 2023 class during the Early Signing Period. He is also one of the 23 high school recruits committed to the Longhorns 2023 class as of Jan. 2.
