Although this was a low-scoring affair in the All-American Game between Team Phantom and Team Speed on Jan. 3, one Longhorns signee that certainly stood out was the elite five-star Orlando Edgewater (FL) running back Cedric Baxter Jr.

Baxter already had a pretty bright spotlight on him coming into the All-American Game since he was one of the captains for Team Phantom. And he was obviously going to have a significant spotlight on him considering he’s the top-ranked 2023 running back recruit in the nation.

The Florida native running back scored the first touchdown of the UA All-American Game on Jan. 3. It would end up being one of just three scores on the evening for both squads.

Baxter took an outside handoff for a 13-yard score where he was essentially untouched as he reached the end zone. This is the type of play that the Longhorns faithful would love to see out of Baxter when he’s wearing the Burnt Orange next fall.

We saw Baxter calling out to the fans that “this is my city” after he scored the first touchdown of the contest since the All-American Game was played in his hometown of Orlando, FL.

That wasn’t all the production for Baxter on the evening, though.

Baxter would wind up leading all running backs in rushing yards and was one of the few players with an offensive touchdown in the All-American Game. He finished up the game with 32 rushing yards on seven carries, with the one aforementioned rushing touchdown.
