The best player in this game for the Longhorns was definitely the experienced super senior forward Timmy Allen. On both ends of the floor, Allen made some positive contributions to the Longhorns.
He was also one of just two players that scored in double figures for Texas, along with senior guard Marcus Carr.
Allen finished up this game second on the team in points, with 11, while tying for the team lead in steals (three). He got his 11 points while shooting 3-of-8 from the field, missing on two attempts from beyond the arc, and making 5-of-6 tries from the charity stripe.
Some of the free throw makes for Allen came at crucial points late in this game for the Longhorns. He also helped Texas get some critical stops to stall Oklahoma State’s offensive efforts completely late in the second half.
The solid two-way effort from Allen on this day resulted in him posting a team-high 9.4 game score. That game score was second only to Oklahoma State big man Kalib Boone in this contest.
This was yet another outing for Allen that saw him making the necessary plays for Texas wherever the team needed it on both ends of the floor to come out on top in the end. Allen had some gritty steals and tough offensive boards (two on the day).
