Corian Gipson, S

One of the highest-rated Texas offers at the safety position is the highly touted four-star Lancaster product Corian Gipson. The top-75-rated defensive back is a top priority for the Longhorns in the 2024 class, especially after safeties coach Blake Gideon and Texas missed out on the elite five-star St. John Bosco (CA) safety Peyton Woodyard during the All-American Bowl last weekend.

At this point of the cycle, I would probably consider Gibson one of the top two or three priority defensive backs in the 2024 class.

The 6-foot and 170-pound standout DB is getting a lot of attention right now from the likes of the Arkansas Razorbacks, LSU Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies, Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Baylor Bears.

And I expect the list of Gipson’s top schools to be narrowed down in the near future. Texas will definitely be included in the mix when it comes time for Gipson to release his next round of finalist cuts.

Texas will only be able to help its case in this recruitment when Gipson makes the trip to Austin for another unofficial visit during Junior Day next weekend. He is one of the highest-rated defensive offers that will be on campus on Jan. 21. I’m sure that Gideon and the Longhorns will continue to make him feel like one of the top priorities in this class.

While this recruitment isn’t over yet, Texas is the school that seems to have a lot of momentum at the moment. Gipson visited Texas more than any other school in 2022, and it looks like that trend will only continue early in 2023.
