This coming weekend definitely won’t be the biggest on the recruiting trail for head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Texas football program, but there are still some important visits taking place. There is a mix of a couple of visits upcoming among high school recruits on the Forty Acres this weekend.

But most of the visits taking place this weekend that are worth noting involve the Texas coaching staff hitting the road to trip to different high schools.

This weekend can set the stage for the festivities during Junior Day, which is set to take place on Jan. 21. Texas’ Junior Day will be the biggest recruiting weekend of the month. It could be what kicks off a big wave of momentum on the recruiting trail for the Longhorns 2024 class.

Granted, Texas might’ve already had one event that took place on the recruiting trail in the 2024 class that could kick off this wave of momentum during the winter months. Earlier this week, Texas landed a commitment from the underrated big arm three-star Cypress Cy-Fair (TX) quarterback Trey Owens.

Sark and the Longhorns can now focus on building out the rest of the foundation for the 2024 class before spring ball. With that in mind, here’s a look at a breakdown of the three most important visits taking place for the Longhorns this weekend.

Michael Uini, OT

One of the highest priority offensive line targets for the Longhorns 2024 class is the highly touted four-star Copperas Cove (TX) offensive tackle Michael Uini. Offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns have made Uini a top priority at the offensive tackle position for almost a year now in the 2024 class.

And that has culminated in Texas getting Uini to campus for a trio of visits since last summer. He also took two unofficial trips to Austin for game weekends last fall (in September and November).

It also looks like the Texas staff that is getting out on the road this week will be able to see Uini in person. A list of the recruits that the Texas staff is planning to visit this week from Justin Wells of Inside Texas on Jan. 13 (paid content) mentions Uini.

Uini is also listed among the visitors that will be on campus for Junior Day next weekend.

These next two weekends should serve as an opportunity for Texas to continue to make huge moves in this recruitment.
