The most disappointing transfer addition from last offseason for the Longhorns probably belongs to the former Alabama Crimson Tide redshirt freshman wide receiver and Florida native Agiye Hall. The former blue-chip recruit out of Valrico Bloomingdale (FL) never lived up to the hype at either Alabama or Texas.

There were glimpses that we saw in terms of the lofty ceiling that Hall brought to the table during the one year that he spent at Alabama in 2021. But those flashes came in very limited instances in terms of live-game reps and in one spring game when he was a true freshman.

Although, it did look as if Hall could get the change of scenery that he needed when he landed with Sark and the Longhorns out of the transfer portal last spring. Hall looked like he was getting his last shot with a Power Five program last spring when he committed to the Longhorns out of the portal.

And he didn’t make much of his chance at Texas last year given the turbulent run on and off the field for Hall. He wound up getting indefinitely suspended from the team prior to the start of the 2022 season. And then, we didn’t see him much on the field once he was back with the team during the fall.

During the 2022 campaign, Hall got just 17 offensive snaps over the course of four games. In those four outings, Hall was targeted twice, which resulted in one catch for seven receiving yards.

That’s all that we would see of Hall before the news came out last month that he was no longer with the team ahead of the Alamo Bowl against the No. 12 Washington Huskies. Hall would end up entering the transfer portal for the second time in as many years a few days after that news surfaced, bringing the short-lived tenure for the former blue-chip wideout recruit in Austin to an end.
