Texas Football: 6 key recruits impressed by Junior Day this weekend
The biggest headline surrounding Texas football recruiting in the last week or so has to do with the Junior Day festivities that took place on Jan. 21. Texas hosting a few dozen visiting recruits from the 2024 and 2025 classes this weekend for Junior Day, which will wind up being one of the biggest events of the winter on the trail.
Head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns were mainly looking to continue to build a solid foundation for the 2024 class. Texas’ Junior Day also presented Sark and his staff with the opportunity to form some valuable early connections with the top recruits from the 2025 class.
Texas is largely playing the patient game with the 2024 class. While Texas has offered more than 115 2024 high school prospects coming out of the Junior Day weekend, Sark and his staff only have three commitments in the 2024 class.
And the Longhorns are still seeking out its first commitment to the 2025 class as of the night of Jan. 22.

I’d imagine that we could be looking at a big run on the recruiting trail during the late spring and summer for the Longhorns if last offseason was any indication.
A lot of the commitments that the Longhorns could potentially land in the 2024 class had important visits for Junior Day this weekend, though. With that in mind, here’s a look at six key recruits for the Longhorns that were impressed by the Junior Day festivities this weekend.
