Bennett Warren, OT

The offensive line came into focus this weekend in the midst of the Junior Day festivities since there were a number of offers handed out. One of the bigger offers that was sent out to a “big human” among the offensive linemen in attendance for Junior Day was to the rising three-star Sugar Land Fort Bend Christian Academy (TX) offensive tackle Bennett Warren.

The towering 6-foot-7 and 310-pound Warren is clearly someone that fits the mold of what Flood and the Longhorns are looking for among “big humans” along the offensive line.

In his first unofficial trip to the Forty Acres, Warren looked like he made some good connections with Sark and offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood.

He was active on social media during his time on campus this weekend. And a post-Junior Day weekend report from Orangebloods (subscriber content) mentioned that the “Longhorns made a big impression” on Warren.

Kendall Jackson, DL/EDGE

Another new offer for the Longhorns in the 2024 class that was on campus this weekend for Junior Day was the 6-foot-4 and 250-pound three-star Gainesville F.W. Buchholz (FL) defensive lineman/edge rusher Kendall Jackson. It looks as if the Texas offer bumps Jackson up to a dozen schools on his growing offer sheet.

Jackson seemed excited about what see saw on campus at Junior Day. He tweeted on Jan. 21 that “today was a great day” and that he “had a lot of fun learning about the coaching staff and the program”.

The post-Junior Day report from Justin Wells of Inside Texas on Jan. 22 (paid content) notes that the Texas staff took a very “upfront approach” in their interactions with Jackson and his family. And it looks like that was the right approach given the feedback we’ve heard coming out of this visit.
