Texas Football: 6 key recruits impressed by Junior Day this weekend
Jerrick Gibson, RB
One of the highest-rated recruits on campus for Junior Day this weekend was the elite five-star IMG Academy running back Jerrick Gibson. It was confirmed a little more than one week ago that Gibson would be attending Junior Day on Jan. 21.
But hearing that Gibson’s relationship continued to blossom with the likes of running backs coach Tashard Choice and the Longhorns was fantastic coming out of his second unofficial visit to Austin since last summer.

There aren’t many direct quotes that we have from Gibson coming out of this visit. From what we do know, though, there are a lot of people around the program and his camp that felt Gibson left Austin with a very positive impression.
James Peoples, RB
The second running back recruit on this list for the Longhorns that left Austin with some good vibes is the highly touted four-star San Antonio Veterans Memorial product James Peoples. The local blue-chip running back made his fourth unofficial trip to the Forty Acres since last summer.
And it just seems like the connection gets better and better between Texas’ staff and Peoples immediately following each of his visits to Austin in the last year or so.
Following the conclusion of his visit for Junior Day this weekend, Peoples took to Twitter to post that “he had an amazing time in Austin”. I think that Sark, Choice, and the Longhorns continue to push a lot of the right buttons in this recruitment. Texas definitely looks like one of the top schools for Peoples coming out of Junior Day.
