Micah Hudson, WR

The highest-rated wide receiver recruit that was on campus for Junior Day was actually a visitor that wasn’t initially expected to make it. The elite five-star Temple Lake Belton wide receiver Micah Hudson looked like he had his name removed from the Junior Day visitor list earlier this week when it was reported that he had a scheduling conflict with a training session with Margin Hooks in Waco.

Nonetheless, Hudson actually wound up showing in Austin this weekend. It sounds like he was one of the earliest visitors to make it to campus on Jan. 21. He got a pretty personal visit experience with Sark and the Longhorns staff.

It’s a really good sign that Hudson was able to make it to Austin for this unofficial trip after the scheduling conflict that came about this week. Both he and Texas are heavily invested in this recruitment and relationship.

Hudson reportedly has the likes of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Texas as three of his top schools at the moment.

Gekyle Baker, WR

Another talented receiver that Sark and the Longhorns hosted on campus for Junior Day this weekend is the underrated three-star Brownsboro (TX) product Gekyle Baker. The 6-foot-3 and 185-pound wideout made his second unofficial visit to Austin since last fall.

And it looks like this visit was just as good as the last as Texas continues to make moves in this recruitment in the last few months.

Baker reportedly told IT that “the trip was amazing, 10/10”.

Texas now looks to be in a top group of schools in the race to land a commitment from Baker that also includes the Oregon Ducks, Baylor Bears, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Texas Tech. He’s set to take a trip to Oregon in the next few months. And more visits are likely around the corner to some of those aforementioned schools with the reported decision timeline for Baker set for the summer before the beginning of his senior season at Brownsboro.
