Micah Hudson

The highest-rated wide receiver target for the Longhorns that will be someone to watch is the elite five-star Temple Lake Belton product Micah Hudson.

I don’t think there is a more important for Jackson to connect with in short order than Hudson. The local product is someone that Texas has invested a ton of time and energy into on the recruiting trail in the last year or so. Hudson has even made the trip to the Forty Acres unofficially on four occasions since last summer, with the latest visit coming for Junior Day last weekend.

Hudson made it clear during his Junior Day visit that he was interested to see who the next wide receivers coach would be on the Forty Acres to replace Marion. But it’s also worth noting that Sark was taking the lead in this recruitment at least throughout the last few months.

So, it shouldn’t matter a ton that Texas didn’t have a new wide receivers coach in place when Hudson visited Austin last weekend.

Hudson still fits into the same category as the other two 2024 wide receiver recruits on this list in terms of the fact that he is trained by Hooks. He even almost missed the Junior Day visit on Jan. 21 due to a scheduling conflict that he had with a training session with Hooks.

But he wound up being able to make it to the Forty Acres, as one of the earliest Junior Day visitors to make it to campus on Jan. 21.

If I had to pick one 2024 recruit at the wide receiver position that is most important for Jackson to connect with on the trail in the very near future, it would be Hudson without a doubt. This needs to be Jackson’s top priority on the recruiting trail for the 2024 class.
