Following a convincing double-digit loss on the road in SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Jan. 28, acting head coach Rodney Terry and No. 10 Texas basketball will get back to game action very quickly. Texas will host the No. 17 ranked Baylor Bears and head coach Scott Drew at the Moody Center on Jan. 30 for the final game of the month.

Terry and the Longhorns will have to square off against a red-hot Baylor team that has won six straight games. Meanwhile, Texas is coming off an 82-71 loss on the road at Thompson-Boling Arena on Jan. 28 in Knoxville at the hands of former head coach Rick Barnes and the No. 4 ranked Tennessee Volunteers in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.

The loss to Tennesse gives Texas a record of 17-4 (6-2 Big 12) heading into this critical Monday night matchup against Baylor.

On the other hand, Baylor had a more fortunate outcome than the Longhorns in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge this weekend. Baylor topped head coach Eric Musselman and the Arkansas Razorbacks in a close battle in Waco on Jan. 28, which ended in the Bears’ favor by the final score of 67-64.

Baylor comes into this matchup against Texas sporting a record of 16-5 (5-3 Big 12) after the win over Arkansas this weekend.

Here’s a look at the TV/streaming information and game time as Texas gets set to host Baylor at the friendly confines of the Moody Center in Austin on Jan. 30.

Texas vs. Baylor preview

Baylor has really found its stride in the last few weeks. The title contender that wasn’t used to seeing out of these Drew-coached teams year in and year out looks to be finding its way in the midst of Big 12 play.

The good news for the Longhorns, though, is the fact that this Baylor team plays much differently on the road than it does at home. In true road games this season, Baylor holds a record of just 3-2. And each of those three wins at home came against a trio of teams in the Big 12 that rank in the bottom four in the conference standings (Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and West Virginia). Each of those three wins also came by single digits.

Texas will ultimately be looking to end this lengthy losing streak in men’s hoops to Baylor. Drew and the Bears have won each of the last six matchups against Texas and 12 of the last 13. Baylor has the most success against Texas of any Big 12 team in men’s hoops in the last five years.
