Another one of the top priorities at the running back position in the 2024 class for Sark, Choice, and the Longhorns is the highly touted Longview (TX) product Taylor Tatum. The 5-foot-10 and 195-pound in-state running back is one of the top-ranked skill prospects in Texas.

And Texas’ push of late on the recruiting trail has clearly made waves with Tatum if some recent interviews are any indication.

A recent visit recap that Tatum did with On3’s Sam Spiegelman (paid content) highlighted just how much of an impression the Junior Day trip he made to Austin a few weeks ago made on him and his camp. Tatum was thrilled about the experience he had at Junior Day, including getting to meet with Sark and Choice one-on-one.

It also sounds like the fact that Tatum felt like a priority while there were so many other five-star running back recruits with him on campus for Junior Day made him feel even more connected with the coaching staff.

Tatum has now made two unofficial trips to Austin since last fall. And it really seems like the Junior Day visit made the biggest impression yet on him.

Up next for Tatum will reportedly be visits to see Georgia and the Ohio State Buckeyes, likely in the spring. But a return trip to Austin also sounds like it could be in the cards during the spring or summer. The more Texas can keep Tatum around campus in the coming months, the better they look in this recruitment during the offseason.
