The first day of the Dallas stop on the Pylon 7v7 Tournament schedule took place on Feb. 4, which featured quite a few Texas football offers and potential targets on the recruiting trail. I was in attendance for some of the action on the first day of Pylon 7v7 on Feb. 4.

Here are some of my notes and top performers from the first day of Pylon 7v7 in Dallas (technically DeSoto) this weekend.

  • Most of the action I saw on the first day (all pool play) of Pylon 7v7 Dallas was in the afternoon on Feb. 4.
  • The afternoon was highlighted by Buzz Gang 18u (Texas), Alpha Elite (Oregon), C4 Nation (Oklahoma), and Texas Threat (Fire) going undefeated in pool play.

DJ Bailey, QB (2024)

2024 DeSoto quarterback DJ Bailey was impressive in pool play. The reigning 6A state champion led Grand Elite Always Open to an undefeated run through pool play. The 5-foot-10 and 165-pound Bailey has a lot of weapons on Grand Elite, including five-star 2025 Duncanville wide receiver Dakorien Moore.

Bailey puts a lot of zip on the ball and has good timing to be able to fit the throw into tight windows. He put that timing and arm power on display on the first day of action in Dallas.

Drake Lindsey, QB (2024)

Buzz Gang’s quarterbacks were solid on the afternoon, as McKinney Christian’s Jeremiah Daoud and Fayetteville’s Drake Lindsey led their squad to a 2-0-1 record in pool play. Daoud is a lefty 2025 quarterback that flashed quite a bit in pool play. And Lindsey is a towering signal caller out of Arkansas that impressed me with his throwing power and tight spiral.

We saw some nice throws from Lindsey, who currently holds offers from the Colorado State Rams, UNLV Rebels, and UAB Blazers.

The 6-foot-5 and 210-pound quarterback is someone to watch this year as he’s got an ideal frame for a pro-style passer and a big arm.

Sincere Blakely, WR (2024)

One of the quicker skill players that caught my eye at Day 1 of Pylon 7v7 Dallas was the 2024 McKinney wide receiver Sincere Blakely. The 5-foot-11 and 175-pound junior was quick off the line of scrimmage and was able to get good separation from opposing defensive backs.

He ran a nice route on this pass in the end zone from Buzz Gang’s Daoud. Blakely currently holds an offer from the New Mexico Lobos and had communication from the likes of North Dakota State and Dartmouth.

Dozie Ezukanma, WR (2024)

A wide receiver target to watch in the 2024 class is the 6-foot-3 and 185-pound Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal product Dozie Ezukanma. The brother of Miami Dolphins and former Texas Tech Red Raiders wide receiver Erik Ezukanma.

Dozie was a stud for Texas Threat on the first day of action at Pylon 7v7 Dallas. He caught multiple touchdown passes from his All Saints Episcopal teammate and 2025 quarterback Kelden Ryan.

Ezukanma holds offers from multiple Power Five programs including the Miami Hurricanes, Mizzou Tigers, TCU Horned Frogs, and Texas Tech.

Next. 3 5-Star Texas recruits to watch in February. dark

He took an unofficial visit to Austin last fall but doesn’t have a Texas offer as of the writing of this article.

We will be at Pylon 7v7 Dallas for bracket play on Day 2 (Feb. 5) with more updates and standouts from the action this weekend.
