Predicting Texas football’s next commit after 4-Star DB Warren Roberson

The last remaining priority that we know of now for the Longhorns 2023 class is the elite five-star Pinnacle (AZ) tight end Duce Robinson. Sark, special teams coordinator/tight ends coach Jeff Banks, and the Longhorns will continue to push through the whistle with Robinson as he still has yet to arrive at a decision in the midst of the late signing period.

But it looks like we could now have some type of decision deadline from Robinson. He mentioned in an interview with 247Sports on the afternoon of Feb. 7 that he will make a decision no later than April 1. That is a couple of weeks before the conclusion of the late signing period for the 2023 cycle, which makes sense as Robinson continues to weigh his decision between the factors of football and baseball.

At the moment, it looks like Georgia is still the favorite in the race to secure Robinson’s commitment. Head coach Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs held the momentum in this recruitment for the last few months.

However, Texas and USC are still fighting it out on the recruiting trail to try and make a late move with Robinson.

Baseball is going to continue to play a role in Robinson’s decision. In fact, baseball might wind up playing a bigger role in Robinson’s future decision than football. If Texas can really hit home with the pitch of the strength of the baseball program, that could be something that gives it an edge over Georgia and USC.
