Texas basketball and interim head coach Rodney Terry notched one of the most impressive victories in Big 12 play so far this weekend. Texas thoroughly dominated longtime head coach Bob Huggins and the West Virginia Mountaineers at home at the Moody Center in Austin on Feb. 11 by the final score of 94-60.

Terry and the Longhorns came up with the biggest margin of victory in any Big 12 game so far this season for their squad by topping West Virginia early in the college hoops slate on Feb. 11. The next-largest margin of victory for the Longhorns in Big 12 play on the season came in a convincing 14-point win over the Oklahoma State Cowboys at home at the Moody Center on Jan. 24.

It’s also worth noting that Texas’ 34-point win over West Virginia this weekend ties the win for the Iowa State Cyclones over the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Jan. 10 in Ames for the largest margin of victory of any game in the Big 12 so far this season (per Sports Reference).

The win over West Virginia moves Texas’ record on the season to 20-5 (9-3 Big 12). Texas retains sole possession of first place in the Big 12 standings. There are four teams that sit within at least 1.5 games of first place in the Big 12 standings behind Texas, though.

Here’s a look at two studs and one dud from the throttling that the Longhorns put on the Mountaineers on Feb. 11.

Stud No. 1: Sir’Jabari Rice, SG/SF

Another day, another outing for senior shooting guard/small forward Sir’Jabari Rice where he nothing but money for the Longhorns on the offensive end of the floor. Rice was on fire from the field and from the charity stripe in this game, putting up a game-high 24 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field, 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line.

Even more impressive about this performance from Rice was the fact that he put up his two dozen points in just 17 minutes off the bench. That averages out to nearly 1.5 points per minute, which is just crazy to think about.

Rice continues to be a model of efficiency for the Longhorns in terms of his scoring ability. You usually want to go for at least 1.1-1.2 points per field goal attempt if you’re a high-volume shooter in the Big 12. But Rice has now averaged over two points per field goal attempt in each of the last three games.

He’s also scored at least 20 points in three of the last four games for the Longhorns.
