Stud No. 2: Timmy Allen, F

While Carr definitely challenged for the final stud spot on this list, we just couldn’t not mention senior forward Timmy Allen in what was such a monumental game for him. Not only did Allen continue to make a positive two-way impact on Texas in this game, but he also reached an important career milestone.

On a nice mid-range field goal that he knocked down in the first half, Allen was able to cross the threshold of 2,000 career points. He joins a club of a little more than 20 other Division I college hoops players to reach that marker of at least 2,000 career points. Carr is one of the nearly two-dozen other active college hoops players to cross the threshold of 2,000 points in his career.

Moreover, Allen was a real force to be reckoned with for the Longhorns on both ends of the floor in this win over West Virginia. He really showed up on the glass, pulling down a team-high nine boards to at least keep Texas around the same pace as West Virginia in the battle on the glass.

Allen also came up with four assists, no turnovers, and one steal as he played some pretty efficient basketball for the third game in a row. And despite Allen shooting just 40 percent from the field, he did manage to get to 14 points while sinking just four field goal attempts.

At this point of the season, it is clear that there are three players that are definitively the most valuable for the Longhorns. The senior trio of Rice, Allen, and Carr take the cake of the three most crucial players as the Longhorns continue this special run in the Big 12 this season.
