How to watch Texas baseball vs. Mizzou: TV/stream, game time
After a tough end to the regular season opener against the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks and sophomore starting pitcher Hagen Smith on Feb. 17, head coach David Pierce and Texas baseball will be looking to rebound against another SEC foe this weekend. On Feb. 18, Texas will take on the Mizzou Tigers.
Both Texas and Mizzou will be looking for their first win of the 2023 regular season on Feb. 18.
Texas is coming off a really close 3-2 loss at the hands of the No. 8 Razorbacks to start off its run at the College Baseball Showdown on Feb. 17. Arkansas ran out to a 3-0 lead in the seventh inning, before a late Texas rally fell short in the bottom half.
Meanwhile, Mizzou will also enter this matchup with a record of 0-1 following its 5-3 loss to the No. 9 Oklahoma State Cowboys in its opener in the College Baseball Showdown on Feb. 17.
Mizzou also entered this season unranked as it finished up the 2022 campaign with a record of 28-23 (10-20 SEC). The Tigers had a rough run in a really deep conference in the SEC last season.
Here’s a look at the TV/streaming information and game time as Texas gets set to square off against Mizzou in the second leg of the College Baseball Showdown for each team at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX, on Feb. 18.

Texas vs. Mizzou preview
Pierce and the Longhorns got an excellent outing from junior left-handed pitcher Lucas Gordon in the loss against Arkansas. Gordon definitely did his part, pitching five scoreless innings while striking out six and giving up just two hits.
But Texas’ bullpen started to lapse a little bit in the seventh inning as LeBarron Johnson Jr. and Chris Stuart gave up three earned runs combined in two innings on the mound in the sixth and seventh.
Texas will be looking for another strong outing from the starting rotation in Game 2 of the College Baseball Showdown. The 6-foot-4 redshirt junior right-hander Zane Morehouse will get the call on the mound for his first start of the season.
Morehouse finished up last season with a record of 3-1 and a 6.00 earned run average. Last season, Morehouse appeared in 20 games, six of which he started.
The key in this game for Morehouse will be how long he’s able to last on the mound. If he’s able to go at least four or five innings deep against the Tigers, that bodes well for the Longhorns in this game. In the three games last season where Morehouse went at least four innings deep, he registered a record of 2-0, with 14 strikeouts, and just a 1.23 ERA.
One of those four outings for Morehouse even came where he threw four scoreless innings on the mound in an eventual loss to the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
Mizzou will give junior left-hander Ian Lohse the start on Feb. 18. Lohse appeared in 17 games for Mizzou last season, but he didn’t start any of them. He registered a record of 2-2 with a 3.80 ERA in those 17 appearances in 2022.
Texas really needs a win in this game, as the schedule won’t get much friendlier to round out the College Baseball Showdown this weekend. Pierce and the Longhorns will round out the College Baseball Showdown against another top 10 team out of the SEC, in the No. 10 Vanderbilt Commodores on Feb. 19.
If Texas could come within one run of knocking off Arkansas, it should be able to take care of business against Mizzou on Feb. 18. But this Mizzou pitching staff is pretty solid, so Texas’ bats need to come alive to provide more run support to Morehouse than they did for Gordon and the bullpen in the opener against the Hogs.
