How to watch Texas baseball vs. LSU: TV/stream, game time
Texas baseball returns to action for a massive one-game midweek showdown at home at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin on Feb. 28 against the No. 1 ranked LSU Tigers. Head coach David Pierce and Texas will really be put to the test this week against the No. 1 ranked team in the country.
Pierce and the Longhorns come into this matchup against LSU with a record of 3-4 (0-0 Big 12) following a series win over the Indiana Hoosiers last weekend. Texas took two of three games at the Disch over the weekend against Indiana. But the Hoosiers did get the best of the Longhorns in the finale of that series, which came by the final score of 4-2 on Feb. 26.
Meanwhile, LSU heads in with a record of 6-1 (0-0 SEC) following a 16-4 dismantling of Sam Houston State at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on Feb. 26. The only loss on the season for the Tigers came at the hands of the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Round Rock Classic on Feb. 25.
Here’s a look at the TV/streaming information and game time as Texas gets set to host No. 1 LSU at home at Disch-Falk Field in Austin on Feb. 28.

Texas vs. LSU preview
According to the game notes from Texassports.com, the powerful redshirt sophomore right-hander Lebarron Johnson Jr. will get the start for the Longhorns. This is the second week in a row that Johnson will get the call on the mound for Pierce and the Longhorns in the midweek game.
Last week, Johnson picked up his first win of the season in his first start against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders on Feb. 21. Johnson gave the Longhorns five quality innings on the mound, giving up just one earned run and three hits while striking out eight.
LSU will give the start to sophomore right-hander Thatcher Hurd. This will be Hurd’s second start of the season. His first came in a win over Southern on Feb. 21.
While LSU did pick up the win over Southern in Hurd’s first and only start of the season thus far, he didn’t have a very impressive showing. Hurd gave up four earned runs, six hits, and three walks, in just two innings of work on the mound.
Texas will need to jump on Hurd and the Tigers early to be able to overcome this powerful LSU lineup on Feb. 28. LSU ranks in the top 25 in the country in runs per game (9.9) and on-base percentage (.443).
This will be the second season in a row, and the third time in the last four years, that Texas will face LSU during the regular season. These two teams have split the last two meetings, with the Longhorns getting the best of the Tigers in the Shriners Hospital for Children College Classic last year by a score of 6-1.
