In the midst of the final week of the regular season, interim head coach Rodney Terry and No. 9 Texas basketball will hit the road to face head coach Jamie Dixon and the No. 22 TCU Horned Frogs. Texas will face TCU in its road finale during the regular season at Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth on March 1.

Terry and the Longhorns come into this matchup against the Horned Frogs with a record of 22-7 (11-5 Big 12) following a convincing 81-72 loss on the road against the No. 9 Baylor Bears in Waco on Feb. 25. Texas had won three of its last four games prior to the loss to Baylor last weekend.

Meanwhile, TCU comes into this game with a record of 19-10 (8-8 Big 12) after a narrow 83-82 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders on the road in Lubbock on Feb. 25. TCU is finding its stride again having won two of its last three games after dropping four straight in mid-to-late February.

According to Texassports.com, Rich Hollenberg and Chris Spatola will call this game between Texas and TCU in Fort Worth on March 1.

Texas vs. TCU preview

Texas has played really well against TCU in Fort Worth in the last few seasons. According to Sports Reference, Texas has won three games in a row in Fort Worth against the Horned Frogs. That includes a dominant 23-point win that Texas nabbed over TCU on the road last season.

The difference, though, this season is that Texas is facing a ranked TCU team in Fort Worth. This is only the second time in more than 55 meetings between these two teams in Fort Worth dating back to the 1949-50 season. It will also be the first time that Texas and TCU are both ranked when these two teams face each other in Fort Worth.

Texas will have to come up with its best performance to beat a TCU team that has found a good rhythm lately. The return of junior guard Mike Miles has proved to be huge for the Horned Frogs. When Miles is in the lineup for TCU, the Frogs are 16-5 this season.

Meanwhile, when he is out of the lineup, TCU is just 3-5 on the season.

Terry and the Longhorns must come out of this game with a win if they want to stay alive in the race for the Big 12 regular season crown. But Texas still technically controls its own destiny in the race for a share of the Big 12 regular season title. It will have to win out to do so, though.
