Among the top recruits in the 2025 class that Texas got in on early, one of the biggest names to watch will be the elite five-star Houston North Shore cornerback Devin Sanchez. Texas got in early on this recruitment, as cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph and the Longhorns offered him last summer.

Sanchez was one of the top recruits that got an offer in the 2025 class from the Longhorns coming out of one of the big visit weekends in June. He was offered during his first visit to the Forty Acres, which specifically came on the weekend of June 11, 2022.

Moreover, while the rankings from most of the major recruiting services are still being evaluated heading into the spring, the 6-foot-2 and 170-pound Sanchez has largely already established himself as one of the top DBs in this class.

Rivals hinted at him potentially being the top-ranked cornerback recruit in the 2025 class in a recent post on Twitter last week. Sanchez definitely looks the part as he’s got tremendous length and ball skills.

From what I’ve seen out of Sanchez playing against the top competition at North Shore in Texas and in the 7v7 circuit this offseason with Houston Vype, he checks a lot of the boxes as potentially the top cornerback recruit in the nation in the 2025 class.

Moreover, Joseph and the Longhorns have done a really nice job of getting their foot in the door early in this recruitment. Sanchez has already visited Texas more times than any other school. He visited Texas during the aforementioned summer trip in 2022 along with an unofficial trip for Junior Day in January.

It also sounds like a return visit is in the works for Sanchez to see Austin during spring ball. I would look at the Junior Day in late March or the spring football game on April 15 as potential target dates for Sanchez’s next trip to the Forty Acres this offseason.
