In roughly one hour, interim head coach Rodney Terry and the two-seed Texas basketball will face the six-seed TCU Horned Frogs in the Big 12 Men’s Tournament semifinals at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, MO. Texas will be looking to win its third straight while advancing to its first Big 12 Tournament final since 2021.

Terry and the Longhorns will also be seeking revenge for their loss to the Horned Frogs in the Big 12 Tournament last year. Texas fell short of TCU in its first game of the Big 12 Tournament last season, by a final score of 65-60.

This matchup between Texas and TCU on March 10 has the makings of another tight showdown. Each of the last three meetings between Texas and TCU were decided by five points or fewer, dating back to that conference tournament matchup last season.

Texas and TCU also split the regular season series, each winning its matchup at home.

Moreover, the Longhorns come into the Big 12 Tournament semifinals with a record of 24-8 (12-6 Big 12) following its convincing quarterfinal win over the seven-seed Oklahoma State Cowboys by a score of 60-47 on March 9. Texas has now beaten Oklahoma State and the No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks in its last two outings.

Meanwhile, TCU comes into this game with a record of 21-11 (9-9 Big 12) after an impressive 80-67 win over the three-seed Kansas State Wildcats in its quarterfinal matchup on March 9. TCU has won three of its last four games heading into the semis.

Here’s a look at the TV/streaming information and game time as the two-seed Texas gets set to face the six-seed TCU in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, MO, on March 10.

Texas vs. TCU preview

At this point of the Big 12 Tournament, both Texas and TCU are fighting for seeding on Selection Sunday. According to TeamRankings, Texas is currently projected as a two-seed (13 percent chance of getting a one-seed) and TCU is projected as an eight-seed.

Both Texas and TCU have an opportunity to move up in the Bracketology projections with a win on this night.

And if Texas is able to claim the Big 12 Tournament crown, it’s really hard not to see Terry’s squad locking in a one-seed on Selection Sunday.

If Texas wants a shot at the Big 12 Tournament crown this weekend, it must find a way to deal with the standout junior guard Mike Miles. When Miles plays double-digit minutes for TCU this season, they boast a record of 18-5. Meanwhile, TCU is just 3-6 in games where Miles essentially wasn’t in the lineup.

Texas opened up as nearly a three-point favorite over TCU (per FanDuel). But the betting line has closed to favor Texas by 1.5 points ahead of tip-off. This game looks like it has the makings of a coin flip, especially with the Longhorns missing senior forward Timmy Allen in all likelihood due to a leg injury.
