The Longhorns come into the Round of 64 with a record of 25-9 (14-4 Big 12) following a tough 61-51 loss at the hands of the Iowa State Cyclones in the final round of the Big 12 Women’s Tournament on March 12. Although, Texas did claim the Big 12 regular season title over the Oklahoma Sooners.

Texas vs. ECU prediction
This will be the first time that Texas and ECU have faced each other on the hardwood in the history of each women’s hoops program.
Moreover, this is the first NCAA Tournament appearance for the Pirates since 2007. It is also only the third NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. In its two prior tourney appearances, ECU lost in the first round.
On the other hand, this is the Longhorns’ ninth consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Texas has made it past the Sweet 16 in each of the last two years, and definitely has the path to do it again this postseason.
Texas is one of the most well-rounded and gritty teams in the country this season. This should be one of the most difficult matchups the Pirates have faced and the Longhorns should be able to come out on top with a comfortable win at the friendly confines of the Moody Center to advance to the Round of 32 this weekend.
