The biggest reason why there is an asterisk next to the name of the former USC Trojans junior wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. is that he is reportedly already on the books to take an official visit to Austin this coming weekend. Bryant is the first portal target that Sark and the Longhorns are hosting for an official visit to the Forty Acres since the start of spring ball.

But this isn’t the first that we’re hearing about Texas kicking the tires on the idea of adding Bryant out of the portal.

Texas was also looking into offering Bryant after he originally put his name into the transfer portal back in early January. Since he entered the portal a couple of months ago, Bryant has received interest from more than a half-dozen major Power Five schools.

He’s also taken official visits to see the Oregon Ducks and Miami Hurricanes, which are some of the top schools he’s deciding between this spring. Bryant visited Miami back in January just after he surfaced in the portal. And he took an official trip to see Oregon last weekend.

If Texas does wind up taking Bryant out of the portal this spring, he would be the second wide receiver Sark and the Longhorns added this offseason. Texas also picked up the former Georgia Bulldogs sophomore wide receiver AD Mitchell within the last couple of months.
