A welcome sight at wide receiver early this week was the return of redshirt junior Isaiah Neyor. For the first time since he suffered an unfortunate season-ending knee injury in a fall camp scrimmage last year, Neyor was a participant in wide receiver drills in practice for the Longhorns.

Neyor was in pads and running through wide receiver drills with a big brace on his right knee. This comes just after Neyor was seen in full pads at practice by the media during the viewing window for the first time since last fall. That happened just a couple of weeks ago when Neyor was able to at least put the pads on at practice.

The injury updates at wide receiver for Sark, new WR coach Chris Jackson and the Longhorns in the last couple of weeks were very positive. Not only did Texas get Neyor back in the mix in a limited fashion in wide receiver drills on March 21, but they also have true freshman DeAndre Moore Jr. back as a full participant for the second full-pads practice in a row.

Moore suffered an apparent lower-body injury in the first spring practice on March 6 that had him seen in a walking boot on campus that week.

Moreover, Neyor’s rehab process is still far from over. He isn’t expected to be going all out as a full participant in practice and/or scrimmages until the start of fall camp.

For the time being, though, it’s definitely worth celebrating the progress that Neyor has made in the last couple of months as he works his way back from an ACL tear. He’ll be a big part of this wide receiver room this fall alongside the likes of junior Xavier Worthy, redshirt senior Jordan Whittington, and junior AD Mitchell.
