Selman Bridges, CB

Among the highest-rated in-state defensive back offers from the Longhorns in the 2024 class is the highly touted four-star Temple Lake Belton cornerback Selman Bridges. The lengthy and uber-talented 6-foot-4 and 170-pound blue-chip defensive back is someone that Texas has made big moves with on the recruiting trail of late.

After offering Bridges just a couple of months ago, Texas appears to already be pretty high on his list. Cornerbacks coach Terry Joseph has already built a good relationship with Bridges since the turn of the calendar year. Sark has also been in communication with Bridges in the last couple of months, which is always a good indicator that Texas is really prioritizing a defensive target on the recruiting trail.

In the last five or six months, Bridges’ star has risen faster than just about any other in-state defensive back recruit in the 2024 class. He’s picked up national attention on the recruiting trail since late last offseason, and that has resulted in a ton of interest from top schools such as the Oklahoma Sooners, USC Trojans, LSU Tigers, and Tennessee Volunteers, among many others.

So, where does Texas stand with one of the top-rated DB priorities in the 2024 class this spring?

It sounds like Texas is one of the schools that Bridges is the most eager to visit this spring. This weekend will be Bridges’ first unofficial trip to the Forty Acres of 2023. And if Texas can push all the right buttons during this weekend’s Junior Day trip for Bridges, that could be enough for them to jump into the lead among the top schools in this recruitment.
