One of the top skill position recruits in the 2025 class that Sark, running backs coach Tashard Choice, and the Longhorns have identified is the highly touted four-star Kissimmee Osceola (FL) running back Taevion Swint.

Texas offered the talented and potent 5-foot-10 and 175-pound Florida native running back last fall. Choice is looking to make another big splash at the running back position in the state of Florida after securing the nation’s top-ranked recruit in the nation at this spot in the 2023 class in Cedric Baxter Jr.

Choice has also made some real headway with the elite five-star IMG Academy running back (top-ranked RB recruit in the nation in the 2024 class) Jerrick Gibson in the current recruiting cycle.

It’s clear that Choice is doing something right with the evaluations he’s able to make and the relationships he’s able to build in the state of Florida. And Swint looks like a good candidate to be squarely on Choice’s radar in terms of Texas’ top running back targets in the 2025 class.

Some of the other top schools in this recruitment include the Florida Gators, UCF Knights, Miami Hurricanes, Florida State Seminoles, and Michigan Wolverines.

But Texas is sitting in a pretty good spot in this recruitment heading into Swint’s first visit to Austin for Junior Day this weekend. Swing seems very intrigued by the connection he’s built with Choice thus far and what the Texas offense could have to offer him in terms of scheme fit under Sark.

It’s worth noting that Swint is the only confirmed running back recruit in the 2025 class that we could find as of the writing of this article on the afternoon of March 23 that is visiting Texas this weekend for Junior Day. That will give Choice and the Longhorns staff even more time to devote a lot of attention to the pitch that they give to Swint.
