Texas Football: 5 key recruits impressed by spring Junior Day
Jonah Williams, ATH
An important blue-chip target to watch that is rising pretty fast this spring in the 2025 class is the versatile and insanely talented four-star Galveston Ball (TX) athlete/defensive back Jonah Williams. The 6-foot-4 and 200-pound in-state athlete made it to the Forty Acres to see Texas practice this weekend in the midst of the Junior Day festivities.
And this was the second time that Williams was able to make it to Austin for an unofficial trip during a Junior Day weekend. He also visited Texas unofficially in late January for the first Junior Day of the offseason.
It sounds like Texas made a big impression on Williams in the midst of a busy weekend for the Galveston Ball defensive back. The fact that Williams was able to make it to Texas to see the Longhorns practice on March 25 also says a lot about the relationship that he’s building with the coaches as he was in the middle of the OT7 tournament on the same day.
From what we’ve heard coming out of this recruitment in the last couple of months, Texas’ offer in February really caught Williams’ attention. Texas is considered to be in a top group of schools in the race to land a commitment from Williams that also includes the likes of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Tennessee Volunteers, Baylor Bears, and Texas A&M.
Williams will be someone to watch as he is one of the rising stars in the 2025 class this spring. Texas is recruiting him to be a hybrid linebacker, and he is one of only two in-state 2025 recruits that have an offer from the Longhorns at the position.
