One of the highest-priority recruits on the Longhorns’ radar in the 2024 class this offseason is the elite five-star Temple Lake Belton (TX) wide receiver Micah Hudson.

The prospect that many of the major recruiting services have ranked as the top wide receiver in the nation in the 2024 class is reportedly looking at making his second trip to the Forty Acres in 2023 this weekend.

If Hudson does make the trip to campus this weekend, it would come in the midst of the Texas Relays, where he is competing in the 4×200 meter for Lake Belton High School. It would also be the first time that Hudson has made the trip to campus since the first Junior Day of the offseason in late January.

This all comes as Texas has started to stand out as one of the frontrunners this spring in the race to land a commitment from Hudson. There are a couple of recruiting analysts/reporters that have recently forecasted Hudson’s commitment to Texas (including IT’s Eric Nahlin on March 25).

Hudson has already formed a fantastic relationship with new Texas wide receivers coach Chris Jackson. He also maintains pretty regular contact with Sark, which is a good sign of where he sits on the Longhorns’ figurative big board among top priorities in the 2024 class.

To sum this up, Texas must keep Hudson on campus as much as it possibly can this offseason. This is going to be a long and pretty wild recruitment, as multiple schools still very much remain in play among the top group for Hudson.
