Texas football had relatively good fortune so far in spring camp this year of avoiding key and costly injuries. From what we’ve seen so far in spring practice, Texas has yet to experience many injury issues. Texas at least avoided any impactful long-term injuries so far this spring.

While head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns are still dealing with some injuries that came about late last season and/or during the winter strength and conditioning program, new injuries were pretty limited thus far.

Some of the Longhorns players still recovering from pre-existing injury issues this spring include redshirt junior wide receiver Isaiah Neyor, sophomore interior offensive lineman Cole Hutson, redshirt senior running back Keilan Robinson, and sophomore defensive back Jaylon Guilbeau, among a few others.

But it does sound like Texas experienced some injury issues earlier this week in practice that didn’t wind up being all that severe. With that in mind, here’s a look at three key Longhorns players that returned from injuries in practice on April 6 and 7.

Bobby Burton of Inside Texas reported on the morning of April 7 (paid content) that a few Texas players were dealing with injury issues coming out of spring practice on April 4. One of the Longhorns players that were mentioned to be dealing with an upper-body injury this week in practice is true freshman early enrollee wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr.

Yet, Moore was able to make a return to practice just a couple of days later. It sounds like Moore was a full participant in wide receiver and team drills in practice the last two days.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard about an injury that Moore suffered that forced him to leave the practice field on the day which it occurred. In the first week of spring practice back on the week of March 8, Moore suffered a lower-body injury that had him in a walking boot for a couple more days.

Moore is a good example of a player that can suffer some minor bumps and bruises. But it sounds like he’s bounced back from each of those abrupt injury issues in short spans of time.
