Texas Football: 4-Star EDGE Noah Carter loved the ‘packed’ spring game
One of the more recent offers for the 2024 Texas football recruiting class, four-star Peoria (AZ) Centennial edge rusher Noah Carter, made his way to the Forty Acres for his first unofficial trip last weekend. Carter was offered by Texas on Feb. 20, 2023, and made his first trip to Austin less than two months later for the Orange-White Game on April 15.
Carter actually made a multi-day unofficial visit to Austin last week, starting on April 13. It sounds like he really enjoyed the visit and left Austin with a positive impression of the coaching staff and the program as a whole.
Texas and co-DC/LB coach Pete Kwiatkowski are starting to prioritize Carter among the out-of-state edge rusher offers in the 2024 class heading into the back end of the spring evaluation period this offseason. Carter could feel the love from the coaching staff and got a good initial look at what Texas has to offer.
He also really liked the atmosphere at the spring game last weekend, saying that it was “packed” at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on April 15 (per Inside Texas).
"“It was very packed. I didn’t think it was going to be that packed for a spring game. Their fans are very loyal and they love their UT football.”"

Carter also loved what he saw around campus during his multi-day visit last weekend.
"“I’ve heard that everything’s bigger in Texas, so I expected that going in. It definitely met that expectation. It was a huge campus, huge facility, huge everything.”"
Immediately following the conclusion of this visit to the 40 last weekend, Carter tweeted that he “had a great time in Austin” and that he will “be back real soon”.
It sounds like Texas will be in a great spot to get Carter back to campus for an official visit during the summer. If PK and the Longhorns continue to make Carter a priority among out-of-state edge rushers in the 2024 class, an official visit would probably be the next time he makes the trip to the Forty Acres this offseason.
Moreover, Carter plays outside linebacker and receiver at Centennial High School, but Texas offered him as an edge rusher.
What PK and the Longhorns like about Carter’s skill set is his speed off the edge. The 6-foot-3 and 225-pound blue-chip recruit out of Arizona has good length, bend, and quickness off the edge. But he still needs to put on more weight as he would likely need to be north of 250 pounds to compete at the buck position in Texas’ defense.
Texas appears to be one of the top schools in Carter’s recruitment after his successful visit to Austin last weekend. Some of the other schools he’s visited recently are the Louisville Cardinals, Arizona State Sun Devils, and USC Trojans.
Texas currently holds commitments from two recruits in the 2024 class as of the writing of this article on the morning of April 18. According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, the 2024 Texas recruiting class ranks at No. 55 in the nation.
