Texas and defensive line coach Bo Davis were busy at work this week getting visits on the books along the defensive line for the summer. One of the most recent additions to the summer visit list in the trenches is the physically-gifted 6-foot-2 and 295-pound Orlando (FL) Jones defensive lineman D’antre Robinson.

Davis and the Longhorns are set to host Robinson on an official visit during that massive recruiting weekend from June 23-25. Robinson is one of two out-of-state defensive linemen now on the books to officially visit Texas on that weekend in late June. There are three defensive linemen total between the in-state and out-of-state recruits in the 2024 class visiting from June 23-25.

This will be Robinson’s second visit to Austin, and the first since he initially made the trip to Texas for Junior Day on Jan. 21.

Texas made a big impression on Robinson during his trip to Austin for Junior Day a few months ago. Davis and the Longhorns make a big move among the top schools in this recruitment in the last few months.

Some of the other top schools in the race to land a commitment from Robinson heading into the summer are the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, and Georgia Bulldogs. Florida already has an official visit on the books with Robinson from June 2-4.

Meanwhile, it sounds like official visits could be in the works for Robinson with the likes of Florida State, Georgia, and Miami with one or two other schools potentially in the mix.

Robinson is emerging as one of the top out-of-state priorities among defensive linemen offers in the 2024 class this offseason. He checks a lot of the boxes in terms of what Davis and the Longhorns are looking for out of “big humans” in the trenches that can move well and can help this defensive line compete upon the move from the Big 12 to the SEC in 2024.
