Among the top early targets for head coach Steve Sarkisian and Texas football in the 2026 recruiting class this offseason is the elite Carrollton (GA) quarterback Julian Lewis. Texas has hosted Lewis on multiple visits to the Forty Acres since last fall, including one a little more than a week prior to the spring game on April 5.

Sark and the Longhorns seemingly made big impressions the last couple of times that Lewis visited Austin since last fall. He stated after the trip he made to Austin earlier this month that Texas presents “a huge opportunity”.

It also sounds like the insane amount of talent and competition that Texas has stacked in the quarterback room for the foreseeable future is something that appeals to Lewis. He told On3’s Jeremy Johnson in a piece published this weekend “that’s what I look forward to in college, that competition”.

Lewis likes the idea of being around other talented quarterbacks that can make him better at the collegiate level.

Elite 2026 QB priority Julian Lewis likes the idea of playing in Steve Sarkisian’s offense with Texas football

"“I want someone that can push me throughout the day. At Texas, you’re definitely going to have a bunch of guys.”"

Another big selling point that the Longhorns are pitching to Lewis is his potential in Sark’s offense. And it sounds like that pitching is hitting home for the elite Georgia signal caller.

"“Coach Sark’s offense, you’ve seen what it does, NFL coaches come to talk to him. You see his offense on the next level and it’s definitely a beautiful sight. That’s definitely the end goal.”"

Moreover, Lewis is already well ahead of his years in terms of his talent level and maturity as a quarterback prospect at the high school level. In fact, his ability to shine as a prospect that is well ahead of his years on his development track at the quarterback position has led to some buzz that he could reclassify to the 2025 class.

Sark’s ability to put Lewis in a position to succeed at the highest level while continuing to refine his tools to become a legitimate top NFL Draft quarterback prospect has clearly piqued Lewis’ interest.

Lewis is the clear-cut top priority at the quarterback position in the 2026 class for Sark and the Longhorns at the moment. He is the only quarterback offer in the 2026 class for the Longhorns thus far.
