Ranking every Texas Longhorns first round draft pick of the last 25 years
Texas Longhorns 2nd-best first-round NFL draft pick of the last 25 years: Quentin Jammer
Defensive back
San Diego Chargers: 2002-2012
Denver Broncos: 2013
Quentin Jammer was not only one of the best Texas Longhorns defensive backs to ever play in the NFL, but he’s also one of the best defensive backs to ever play in Austin. There’s a reason why he was selected number five overall in the 2002 draft, and after the Chargers selected him, he rewarded them with ten years in the NFL, where he patrolled the defensive backfield and made a reputation as someone that no quarterback should throw at.
While he only started four games in his rookie season, he did appear in 14 and racked up 67 tackles. In his second season, he was promoted to starting corner for the Chargers and added four interceptions to very similar tackle numbers.
Jammer finished his Chargers career with more than 700 tackles and 21 interceptions. He also had one final year with the Denver Broncos but appeared in just six games.
