Interior offensive line is another position that has a strong in-state group of priority recruits for the Longhorns in the 2024 class. And one of the priority recruits at the top of the board for offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Kyle Flood and the Longhorns is the touted four-star North Richland Hills (TX) Richland interior offensive lineman Daniel Cruz.

The 6-foot-3 and 275-pound versatile interior offensive lineman Cruz was one of the great early evaluations in this class by Flood. Cruz is a well-rounded offensive lineman that is a real body mover at any spot along the interior. He’s got quick feet and great hands, allow him to effectively push opposing interior defensive linemen off the ball, especially blocking for the run.

The fact that Cruz is well under 300 pounds as an interior offensive line recruit heading into his senior season, and Flood is still making him a top priority, is a sign of just how many this staff values his skill set. Cruz doesn’t have the usual build of a “big human” that Flood typically pursues on the recruiting trail. But Cruz has already proven to be such an effective staple along the interior offensive line that he has turned into a must-get recruit for Texas in the 2024 class.

Cruz is making the official visit to Austin in June. He’s also set to see the Ohio State Buckeyes, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma Sooners on official visits this summer. Ohio State and Oklahoma made big pushes in this recruitment during the spring, but it still looks like Texas has a hefty lead with the skilled blue-chip IOL Cruz.
