Another impressive three-point shooter that Terry and the Longhorns are now after in the portal at this point of the offseason is the former Ball State Cardinals All-MAC sophomore shooting guard/wing Jaylin Sellers. The 6-foot-4 and 180-pound Columbus, GA, native Sellers is reportedly getting “some interest” from the Longhorns after his name surfaced in the transfer portal a few days ago.

Sellers wouldn’t quite fill the same role that the Longhorns are seeking in the portal that Rodman would next season. The former Ball State sharpshooting wing would be looked at as more of a tertiary playmaker and spot-up shooter that could provide an offensive spark off the bench.

In fact, I could see Sellers filling a role similar to that of the former UTA guard and reigning WAC Freshman of the Year Weaver. Sellers just isn’t as polished of a playmaker and/or facilitator as Weaver proved to be at UTA last season.

Sellers is one of the best floor spacers available in the portal at the moment. He was an insanely consistent three-point shooter for the Cardinals over the last two years.

According to Sports Reference, Sellers is one of just five eligible players in Division I college basketball to shoot better than 44 percent from deep in each of the last two seasons.

It sounds like Texas is one of the schools involved in this portal recruitment for Sellers at the moment. The Georgetown Hoyas are also reportedly making a big push for Sellers this spring.
