A top priority wide receiver recruit in-state in the 2024 class for Sark, new wide receivers coach Chris Jackson, and the Longhorns is the highly touted four-star Midlothian product Bryant Wesco. The gifted 6-foot-3 and 170-pound wideout saw his recruitment explode during the spring, and rightly so.

There aren’t many in-state wide receiver recruits that I’ve covered since last offseason that I’ve been more impressed by both in high school and 7v7 settings than Wesco. He does almost everything well that you would ask out of a top wide receiver prospect, and a little bit more.

Wesco is lengthy, vertically gifted, runs routes well, and brings a lot of explosiveness to the table. This skill set just sounds like something that Sark and the Longhorns need to have at boundary receiver in the 2024 class.

But Texas needs to make a big move to make up some ground in this recruitment heading into the summer. Oklahoma is the presumed leader (per 247Sports) in this recruitment heading into the summer, with other schools such as the LSU Tigers, Clemson Tigers, and Tennessee Volunteers looking to make big moves during visit season with the talented Midlothian wideout.

Texas and Oklahoma have yet to lock in official visit dates with Wesco for the summer. The four official visit dates Wesco has on the books at the moment are USC (May 19), Clemson (June 2), LSU (June 10), TCU (June 17), and Tennessee (June 23).

Jackson and the Longhorns are going to continue to heavily press Wesco to get back to Austin during the summer and the fall, as he is one of the top priorities among in-state wideouts in the 2024 class.
