A top early-cycle priority in the 2025 class for Terry and the Longhorns is the skilled four-star Austin (TX) Lake Travis wing, Hudson Greer. The 6-foot-6 and 180-pound local product got his first chance to really show what he can do for the ProSkills 16U team in 2023 during the EYBL Dallas session last weekend.

Prior to the EYBL Dallas session in the last few days, Greer had only played a couple of minutes over the course of two games during the Atlanta session for ProSkills on the weekend of April 23.

Greer made the most of the opportunities he got with ProSkills over the weekend. Against Team Melo on May 12, Greer played double-digit minutes for ProSkills for the first time during the EYBL circuit this year. And he put up some solid numbers while getting just a dozen minutes on the floor, with 15 points on an impressive 7-of-9 shooting from the field.

He also contributed to ProSkills’ winning effort against Team Melo with six rebounds. Mind you, Greer did all this (15 points and six boards) in just over a dozen minutes on the floor.

Greer continued to shine on the offensive end and on the glass for ProSkills in the one game I got to see him play last weekend, which resulted in a dominant win over the Georgia Stars on May 13. Greer posted 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field once again, just with one fewer three-pointer drained.

From what I saw out of Greer over the weekend, he is a really solid scorer inside the arc that has a decent variety of post moves. I would like to see Greer start to extend his game out on a more consistent basis to be a threat beyond the arc. And the natural shooting touch looks to be there, he just has to be able to make those shots consistently in live-game action.

I also liked what I saw from Greer on the defensive end of the floor and on the glass. If he can add some weight to his frame in the next couple of years, he’ll be a solid defender at the three or the four while having the potential to be a force on the offensive and defensive glass.

Given that Greer is from UT’s backyard, coming out of Lake Travis High School in Austin, this will obviously be a recruitment to watch early on for the Longhorns in the 2025 class. Texas has built a good relationship with Greer early in his recruitment, and he got to see Texas for the first time as an unofficial visitor last October.
