It’s not only blockers that the addition of Chryst can have an impact on in terms of Texas’ offensive players. Chryst joining the staff should also help to give the running backs more opportunities for big plays next season by coming up with different blocking schemes that can help open up more lanes to run.

Among the Texas running backs that Chryst could have an impact on heading into next season, I think the one that could benefit the most is the former elite five-star recruit and true freshman CJ Baxter Jr. The No. 1 rated running back in the nation in the 2023 class has all the talent in the world to be able to make an immediate impact on this offense.

The fact that Baxter’s talent could be complimented by multiple different creative and conducive blocking schemes to help open up more running lanes on outside zone and counter plays specifically means that he’ll be put in an even better position to succeed as a true freshman.

Chryst can help Baxter settle into the offense and find some specific personnel packages that could help open up lanes for the dynamic freshman back to get into the open field for explosive plays.

Any added emphasis on game-planning and personnel strategizing for the ground game will help Baxter heading into his true freshman campaign. I think this addition could be huge for him, as well as the entire Texas backfield to be able to find more ways to set the tone on the ground on offense next season.
